Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year - I hope your time was spent well, with family, and friends!

I will apologies for my lack of blogging over the last few weeks, as I am home in New Zealand I have been making the most out of all the time I have here, spending time with my family and friends, and having a proper holiday!

Regular blogging will resume this week and as I am back to London next week, it will continue regualrly for a wee while now.

Thanks so much for all the support over the last year, I have been lucky enough to experience some wonderful things in 2011, and I hope that 2012 brings much of the same!

I love this idea - especially the London edition. The pack contains 12 dot to date calender cards (one for each month) and each card has numbered dots, so once you complete one card (one month) you reveal a famous London landmark - with the 12 months or the year completing your London skyline!

Ink & Wit 2012 Letterpress Calender
I love the gorgeous illustrative design style and the minimal colour palette, and that combined with such gorgeous printing, always going to be a winner in my book! Get in quick, they are a limited edition of 125!

Inkello Matchbook Calender
I think these are such sweet calenders! I love the small size of this, perfect to go from on the desk to straight in the bag. Really simple typographic insides, with structured patterns on the cover, and available in red, light blue and black, I really love these!

Petit Paperie Black and White Ink Calender
Inspired by lines, shapes, geometric, textile, pattern and modern art, it would be hard to see why I wouldn't love these calenders. Favorite part? The fact that you can pop them into frames after there use and they don't look like calenders...

Southwestern Letterpress Wall Calender
Last but certainly not the least, this calender by Goosedown press is quite amazing and absolutely stunning! I love that pattern and the detail that went into pressing it is incredible!

Sweet Play is the diploma project of French designer Elsa Lambinet who recently graduated from the ECAL University of Art and Design with a Masters in Advanced Studies in Luxury. The idea behind sweet play is pretty straightforward. A modular design allows for three types of chocolate that can support two added ingredients: black chocolate has a hole to contain fruit, milk chocolate has spaces for nuts, and white chocolate is surfaced to hold liquids, and all three contain a hallowed compartment for inserted flavored wafers, perhaps nougat or carmel. Participants get to mix and match ingredients for hours and hours as they gorge themselves on custom confectionery goodness.

This visual identity and signage project for the W&Cie Paris office is absolutely amazing. As stated on identitydesigned,

This new identity accompanies the philosophy of the agency, ‘What a Wonderful World’, and confirms its intention to support its clients with relevance, optimism, and strong strategic and creative exigency in all areas including design, advertising, editorial and digital.

The various areas and the walls, screens and stationery are used to create visual surprises and to emphasise, with a touch of humour, how much our people are dedicated to the brands they work for.

Love the periodic classification table of brands, and the sex of brands for the men's and ladie's bathrooms! Overall - just an amazingly well thought out project- the results tell the story!

Time has come again for a wee holiday! This week I am off to Krakow, Poland, then getting on a train around Eastern Europe, dropping into Budapest, Vienna, Prague, and Munich for the massive Oktoberfest! I can't wait for a wee break, and although it will be so busy, it will be amazing to see some gorgeous bits of Europe! I have some posts scheduled for you to enjoy while I'm away - see you when I'm home! :)

The striking navy and yellow colour palette, beautiful calligraphic typography... add a yellow gilt edge and nice detailing and you get an absolutely amazing wedding invitation set. Some stunning work here by Foreign Policy. Love the typographic and photographic style for Cocotte Restaurant - simple and effective! Cute touch with the cork business card! The Table No1 identity is another nice one - the use of the rubber stamp mark and the brown paper has been executed quite nicely! In the opposite direction, the identity for The Waterhouse is minimal, simple and the monochromatic colour palette suites the branding quite nicely.
